LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Kansas man was killed late Sunday night in a rollover crash in rural Gage County, the sheriff’s office says.

The crash happened around 11:30 p.m. near Southwest 61st and West Scott roads, just west of Beatrice.

When deputies arrived, they discovered a single-vehicle rollover crash.

The sheriff’s office said four people were inside the vehicle at the time of the crash.  The driver — 19-year-old Joseph Korber from Bern, Kansas — was pronounced dead at the scene.

During an investigation, deputies learned that Korber was heading east on Scott Road, going at least 100 mph, when he lost control of the vehicle.

The vehicle then rolled “numerous times” before coming to a stop, the sheriff’s office said.

One passenger was taken to a Lincoln hospital for injuries that were life-threatening.

The other two passengers were transported via ambulance to a hospital in Beatrice for injuries that were not life-threatening.

The sheriff’s office said alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the crash.  An investigation is ongoing.
