Kearney man killed in overnight house fire, officials say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Kearney man was killed in a house fire on Sunday.

Around 11 p.m., several first responders were sent to a home near 52nd Street and N Avenue.

According to officials, two people were able to escape safely, but a 69-year-old man was found dead inside the home.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Nebraska State Fire Marshal’s Office.

“The Kearney Police Department and Kearney Volunteer Fire Department extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased during this difficult time.”
