KEARNEY, Neb. (KLKN) – Kearney Police are searching for a woman they believe could be connected to a shooting that killed one man in January.

Chenoa Lemburg, 22, is charged with criminal attempt of robbery in Buffalo County.  A complaint outlining the charge said Lemburg had attempted to rob Mariah Chamberlin, 19, and Joshua Morris, 18, on Jan. 16, the night of the shooting.

Jared Shinpaugh, 31, was killed the night of the shooting, and Joseph Garcia, 29, was treated and released for a gunshot wound.

Garcia has since been arrested on a warrant for criminal attempt of robbery, and was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance when an officer found approximately one gram of methamphetamines in his pocket.  The complaint outlining his charges claimed he also attempted to rob Chamberlin and Morris on Jan. 16.  He will have a preliminary hearing on March 2.

Both Chamberlin and Morris were arrested on four felony charges connected to the incident, including possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a controlled substance.  Neither were arrested for the fatal shooting.  They will each appear separately in court on Feb. 23

Kearney Police say the investigation is still underway, and no one has been arrested for the shooting of Shinpaugh yet.
