Kearney Police looking for person who stole pickup, broke open ATM

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Kearney Police are searching for someone who stole a pickup truck and tried to steal an ATM on Tuesday.

The attempted theft happened early in the morning, around 4:20 a.m.

Police said an ATM alarm was going off at Heartland Bank.

When officers got there, they found the ATM torn open.

The investigation suggests that someone used a vehicle to break open the ATM and take the cash inside.

But police said they were not able to steal any of the money.

Officers found an empty stolen Ford pickup nearby, and they think this was the vehicle used in the attempted ATM theft.

KPD is asking anyone with information to contact them at 308-347-2104.
