LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A small fire in a northeast Lincoln neighborhood Friday night caused some damage to a home.

The fire occurred about 6 p.m. near Holdrege Street and Cotner Boulevard.

The fire started in the kitchen and spread to some of the cabinets, according to Lincoln Fire & Rescue.

LFR said the homeowner discovered the fire when they arrived home.

By the time fire crews arrived, the fire was “pretty much already extinguished,” Battalion Chief Jeremy Gegg said.

“There’s fairly minimal damage, and the homeowner will be able to stay here,” he said.
