Lamm kicks off her campaign

On Wednesday, Lincoln City Councilwoman Cyndi Lamm officially announced her campaign for mayor.

“Today is about the possibilities that we have and how it shows that hard work and commitment, with that we can get anything done,” Lamm said.

Joining her were fellow Republicans to give her their endorsements.

“I’ve known Cyndi for years and she has a servant’s heart,” Gov. Pete Ricketts said.  “And she puts her concern and her care for others into action each and every day.”

Lamm said she’s seen this city through all sides.

“From homelessness, to being a mother, a grandmother, an attorney, a business owner to actually volunteering in the city,” Lamm said.

She said she wants to restore transparency and trust in government.

“A transparency that allows your local representatives to have full access to all of the departments and information they need at the city and a city where we will have…governance not hamper it by gamesmanship,” she said.

Lamm’s not the only city council member in the race for mayor.

Councilwoman Leirion Gaylor Baird announced her candidacy in November.

Issues Lamm said she wants to tackle are property tax relief and fixing and maintaining roads.

The general election for mayor is next may with the primary in April.
