Driver killed in rollover crash east of Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — One person was killed in a crash east of Lincoln on Friday night.

The crash was reported about 8 p.m. near 176th and Adams streets, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.

Someone driving by saw a pickup truck on its roof and one person inside, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies said CPR was in progress when they arrived.

The driver — 29-year-old July Jindra of Lincoln — was taken to CHI Health St. Elizabeth Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators think the pickup was going west on Adams and went into a ditch before getting back on the road.

Jindra then lost control and slid to the south side of the road, where the pickup rolled at least once, ending up in a field.

The sheriff’s office said Jindra was not wearing a seat belt, and investigators think alcohol was a factor.
