Lancaster County ends 2020 with 153 COVID deaths

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Officials with the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department (LLCHD) reported one new death in the final report of 2020 with a final year total of 153.
The deceased has been identified as a man in his 60s who was in the hospital.
Additionally, 193 new lab-confirmed cases were reported, bringing the community total to 22,654.
The county is reporting 6,882 people have recovered from COVID-19. While the weekly positivity rate of December 27 – 30 is 33.1%.
As of today, 99 individuals are hospitalized with COVID-19 (61 from Lancaster County). A total of six people were on ventilators.
There will not be a January 1 update from LLCHD. The next update will be January 2.
