Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office releases results of anti-impaired driving campaign
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office cited several drivers during an anti-impaired driving campaign over the holiday season.
On Thursday, the sheriff’s office released the results of its Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign, which ended on Sunday.
Additional deputies were on duty, focusing their efforts on alcohol-impaired drivers and other alcohol-related violations.
During the campaign, deputies issued 85 citations and 155 warnings.
The sheriff’s office said 51 drivers were ticketed for speeding, two for driving while intoxicated and one for fleeing to avoid arrest.
Deputies also made three criminal arrests and took six people into custody for having outstanding warrants.
Two were arrested on suspicion of possessing less than 1 ounce of marijuana. Another was arrested on suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia.
The enforcement campaign was made possible with funding from the Nebraska Department of Transportation’s Highway Safety Office.
