LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Nebraska’s own Larry the Cable Guy is launching a comedy tour across his home state.

He announced Monday that he will perform early next year in nine cities that typically don’t attract big acts.

The largest city on the tour is Kearney, with a population of about 34,000.

Larry the Cable Guy, whose real name is Dan Whitney, has recorded two platinum comedy albums and is known for his catchphrase “Git-R-Done!”

Whitney lives in Lincoln and was born in Pawnee City, which is one of the stops on the tour.

“I’ve spent a lot of time traveling the United States, but there’s nothing like sharing some laughs in small towns across Nebraska,” he said in the tour announcement. “These people have been my biggest supporters, and I can’t wait to put on a great show and give back to the places that shaped me.”
