Last cold day of the week 2/17/2022
Eastern Nebraska is off to a frigid start this morning with wind chill values hovering at or below zero degrees. Breezy wind gusts around 30+ mph will tug at your car as you drive to work or take the kids to school, so use extra caution while driving. Keep your heavy layers on into the afternoon today too, because temperatures will struggle to reach the 30s. Wind chill values in the afternoon will be in the teens and eventually wind gusts will relax into the second half of the day. Cloudy skies will also start to move out as we head further into the day today which will lead to mostly sunny skies. We remain clear overnight and temperatures drop back into the teens. Southerly wind returns as well tonight and this will boost temperatures for your Friday and weekend. Highs return to the 50s and eventually 60s by Sunday.
