Lazlo’s Brewery and Grill honors late co-founder Scott Boles

Restaurant was closed for a celebration of life

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A celebration of life was held at Lazlo’s Brewery and Grill for co-founder Scott Boles.  Scott passed away from a heart attack on January 29th.

For many who knew him, Scott Boles was one of a kind.  His longtime friend and other co-founder, Jay Jarvis said Scott was, ” [An] incredibly fun guy, very sharp witted, amazing writer, we developed the brand of Lazlo’s together over the last three decades… childhood friend, known him most of my life, and uh… he’s going to be sorely missed.”

In 1991, Scott opened Lazlo’s Haymarket location with his brother Brian and his friend Jay.  This location was the first brewpub in the state of Nebraska.  Jay said, “We always joked we were the oldest and largest brew pub in Nebraska because we were the only one.”

Jay also said Scott was instrumental in bringing brewpubs to Lincoln.

With former staff and friends gathered inside the restaurant, they all raised a glass to Scott.  Jay said Scott would’ve wanted this to be how people celebrated him saying, “Scott wanted to go out with a bang.”

Scott A. Boles was 62 years-old.
