Learn How to “Intervent”

There's a familiar face here at KLKN who is taking part in a 12 week “life style” change program.. Our own Rod Fowler took part in what is called the “Intervent” program at Bryan LGH Medical Center. It's where a Bryan LGH mentor helps you change your lifestyle so you lose weight, lower blood pressure and cholesterol and make healthy decisions. But Rod didn't want to do it alone, so we invited viewers to e-mail and to write us telling us why they should be picked. We were inundated with requests. Bryan LGH narrowed it down to 2 people.

Marcia Worth had hit a sour note with her eating and exercising habits. She suffers from high blood pressure, and said her triglicerides are so high doctors couldn't calculate the ldl values. She also has type 2 diabetes. Then there's Dave Haumont. He walks a lot in his job with the city of Lincoln.. But. he likes to eat and drink and now has to get out of that habit. Dave is 46 years old. He weighs 248 pounds. He has diabetes , high cholesterol and high blood pressure. In fact, one of his arteries is 30% blocked. His goals? Lose weight, exercise more and lose 25 pounds.

Marcia is 55. She weighs 188 pounds. She's also a diabetic. With high blood pressure and cholesterol, her goals are to lower her cholesterol and exercise. She would like to start out by losing 20 pounds.

Don't' forget about Rod. He is 38 years old, weigh 237 pounds. His problem?. That good old spare tire around the middle. His goal is to exercise and lose 20 pounds.
