Legacy Arbors Holds Its 7th Annual Rockin' For A Reason

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Legacy Arbors Memory Care held its 7th annual “”Rockin’ for a Reason” event on Wednesday.

The event was delayed last year due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.

Residents participate in the festivities by singing songs in their rocking chairs. They also tie-dye T-shirts and hold bake sales to raise funds for the “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” event, which happens in October.

“We wanted the residents to be able to participate,” said Michele Carlson, Event Organizer. “It started out really small, now it’s grown into a pretty big event.”

Legacy Arbors has raised about $9,000 for Alzheimer’s research in for past events.

Channel 8’s own Rod Fowler was there to join the fun!
