Lego enthusiasts race the track in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lego builders raced the track Saturday at the Museum of American Speed in Lincoln.

Competitors built and raced their cars at the Lego Pit Stop while surrounded by their families, spending quality time with them.

One racer, Sam Voborio, said his love for Lego began in childhood.

“I remember when my grandpa, I think when I was about 3 years old, he bought me a Lego set,” Voborio said. “And I think I didn’t do much with it, of course, but I did end up liking it quite a bit.”

The top finishers went home with a Lego set, and the overall winner got a trophy, too.

Another event takes place next weekend, but it’s already full.

However, another Lego event, Brick Days Omaha, is coming up.

This event runs from March 23 to March 24 at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs.

Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids.
