LES crews heading to Florida where Hurricane Idalia made landfall Wednesday
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — LES is sending multiple crews to Florida, where Hurricane Idalia slammed the state as a major Category 3 storm on Wednesday morning.
CNN reports it’s “inflicting deadly storm surge and catastrophic winds not seen in that Gulf Coast area in 125 years.”
The 10 LES workers who’ve been deployed will focus on power restoration efforts once they arrive on Friday.
LES Vice President Paul Crist said, “Whether assisting communities in need of mutual aid or serving our families, neighbors and friends in the Lincoln area, safety remains our top priority.”
A crew from Grand Island is also traveling to Florida with the workers LES sent.
