Let the melt begin; Warmer temperatures ahead
Southeast Nebraska will get back to above freezing temperatures, during the afternoon, starting as soon as Thursday. Overall, temperatures will be climbing all the way through Tuesday of next week before an Arctic blast comes to the United States.
TONIGHT: Clear skies and cold temperatures. Lows will be in the teens. There could be some areas of patchy fog early Thursday morning, especially towards Omaha. With temperatures below freezing areas of patchy fog will possible.
THURSDAY: Mainly sunny. Temperatures go above freezing with highs from the middle 30°s to middle 40°s. It will remain on the cooler end of the range where the snow pack remains. Temperatures will climb to the middle 40°s where there isn’t any snow on the ground.
Tuesday night I mentioned a chance for snow showers behind a cold front Friday night. Computer models have shied away from that, so I have removed the chance for precipitation from the forecast.
