Fire destroys garage in west Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Fire & Rescue crews battled an overnight garage fire Wednesday in west Lincoln.

The fire was reported around 1 a.m. near Northwest 27th and West O streets.

LFR spokeswoman MJ Lierman said a detached garage was fully involved in flames when firefighters arrived.

They worked to protect the surrounding structures.  It took about 30 minutes to bring the blaze under control.

No one was injured, and the nearby homes were not significantly damaged.

The garage was destroyed. LFR estimated the loss at $75,000.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
