LFR crews extinguish garage fire at south Lincoln apartment complex

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Several Lincoln Fire & Rescue crews put out a garage fire Monday morning at an apartment complex.

The fire was reported around 9 a.m. inside a garage at the apartment complex near 40th Street and Nebraska Parkway.

LFR spokeswoman MJ Lierman said the fire was contained to a single garage but there is smoke damage throughout.

A user of the NOW Local News App shared a video showing smoke coming from inside a garage.

LFR Battalion Chief Jim Bopp said there were “quite a few things charging” in the garage, causing an electrical overload, which sparked the fire.

The blaze cause about $75,000 in damage.
