Arson suspected in fire at north Lincoln apartment building, LFR says

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – LFR crews put out a fire Tuesday morning in the hallway of an apartment building in north Lincoln.

The fire was reported around 9 a.m. at an apartment complex near North Ninth Street and Belmont Avenue.

Lincoln Fire & Rescue crews extinguished flames in a second-floor hallway, Battalion Chief Jim Bopp said.

The apartment was evacuated, and no one was injured.

LFR spokeswoman MJ Lierman said the fire is being investigated as arson.
