LFR holds graduation ceremony for new recruits
"Words can't describe how excited I am to be a part of it," said Tristan Mahler, LFR Academy Graduate
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A group of new Lincoln Fire and Rescue recruits had a special night as they celebrated their graduation at the Fire Reception Hall on Tuesday.
Eight members of the academy received their new badges and a title of probationary firefighter. Some of the graduating members will be starting duty tomorrow, while some have to wait until next week.
“Words can’t describe how excited I am to be a part of it. I’ve always wanted to help people and so being able to have that passion and be able to actually do it and see the lives that I could potentially change would be something I’m really looking forward to,” said Tristan Mahler, LFR Academy Graduate.
Tristan’s peers, along with feedback from instructors, voted him as the honor grad. The eight recruits took part in a rigorous training program. The new firefighters beat out about 40 other recruits to get to graduation.
