LFR hosts award ceremony to honor workers

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN)- Lincoln Fire and Rescue honored their hardest workers on Sunday evening.

Various awards were given during the ceremony in recognition of their fearless moment in service to the Lincoln community.

Kim Mckay, recipient of the Fire Chief’s Award of Excellence has served LFR for over 33 years and beamed with joy when receiving the award.

“It’s because they’re all so wonderful that I love to do things for them and work with them,” Mckay said.

Captain Johnathan Reed received several awards including the Unit Performance Award.

“The people of LFR, they come to work every day, they work hard, they’re kind of humble people so it’s good every year to be able to kind of recognize the great things that the people here do.”
