LFR hosts workshops for potential recruits

'Lincoln Fire is just a really special place to be'

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Fire & Rescue is looking for the right people to serve the community.

Potential candidates visited LFR Station 1 for a workshop on Thursday.

Attendees were able to ask questions about opening positions and the application process.

Current LFR members explained what they do and what makes the department special.

“Lincoln Fire is just a really special place to be,” paramedic Dawn Campos said. “It’s very family-oriented. It’s fun, and we’re a small department but somewhat of a big department, and we all just kind of know most of the people that we work with.”

People who missed this workshop can attend two more that the department is holding.

The next one is July 21 at Station 1 on Q Street from 6 to 8 p.m. The last one will be on July 22 at Station 15 on Pine Lake Road, from 8-10 a.m.

Applications will open on LFR’s website on July 22.
