LFR: Man and cat found dead after apartment fire in downtown Lincoln
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A man and a cat were found dead Tuesday morning after an apartment fire in downtown Lincoln.
At approximately 1:15 a.m., several first responders were dispatched to the apartment complex near 14th and G streets.
According to Lincoln Fire & Rescue, there was an active fire in a first-floor apartment, with smoke rising to the building’s top floor.
LFR said they found the male victim inside the burned unit, as well as a cat.
According to LFR, the fire was quickly extinguished, and there were no other injuries.
The Lincoln Police Department and the fire inspector are investigating the circumstances of the fire and the death.
