LFR puts out fire at southeast Lincoln store
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Fire & Rescue responded to a blaze at a southeast Lincoln store on Sunday.
The fire was reported shortly before 12:30 p.m. at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore near 56th Street and Nebraska Parkway.
A video posted on the NOW Local News App shows black smoke rising from the scene.
LFR Battalion Chief Bob Watton said it started as a dumpster fire.
The flames spread to the outside of the building and also slightly inside, he said.
Crews contained the fire within about 10 minutes, according to LFR, and no one was injured.
Watton said there is a lot of smoke and smoke damage inside the building, so firefighters’ main focus now is airing it out.
The cause of the fire and the amount of damage are still under investigation.
