LFR rescues 17-year-old boy stuck in northeast Lincoln storm drain

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Fire & Rescue saved a 17-year-old boy who was stuck in a storm drain late Thursday night.

LFR spokeswoman MJ Lierman said crews were sent to northeast Lincoln around 10:20 p.m..

Firefighters used ropes to pull the boy, who lived nearby, out of the drain near 65th Street and Kearney Avenue.

Lierman thinks he got in somewhere around Ballard Pool.

The boy was taken to a local hospital, but Lierman didn’t know the extent of his injuries.
