LFR rescues elderly woman trapped in car following accident

A 78-year-old Lincoln woman had to be cut out of her car after an accident in South Lincoln.
It happened just before 1:30 p.m. near 27th and Pine Lake Road in South Lincoln.
According to Lincoln Fire and Rescue two vehicles collided head on trapping the elderly woman in her car.
“We had to extricate or use the jaws of life and different tools to move the first patient, that patient has been transported,”LFR Battalion Chief Jim Bopp said.
The woman was transported to Bryan West, but we don’t know the extent of her injuries.
Police are still investigating what caused the accident, but say the road has since reopened.
