LFR responds to attic fire at Lincoln home

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Fire & Rescue crews battled an attic fire Monday morning at a home near Peter Pan Park.

Crews were sent to the home near North 30th and W streets around 8:30 a.m.

LFR spokeswoman MJ Lierman said the fire started in the kitchen while the homeowner was cooking.

Lierman said he was able to get part of it out, but the flames spread to the attic, so he called for help.
