LFR responds to restaurant roof fire

Lincoln Fire and Rescue were called into action to fight a roof fire overnight Sunday.

Around 1 a.m., a witness reported flames coming from the roof of the Las Margaritas restaurant located at 2700 Jamie Lane.

Once crews arrived, they fought the fire from the outside.

Fire Investigator Ken Hilger says it was caused by a floating luminary lantern.

Officials do not know how the lantern got there.

LFR estimates $15,000 in damage.

No word yet if the restaurant is open today.
