LFR saves man from burning Lincoln apartment building
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – One person was rescued from an apartment fire in Lincoln on Tuesday.
Around 4:40 p.m., Lincoln Fire & Rescue crews were sent to the apartment building near 16th and G Streets.
A man was about to jump from a third-floor window, but firefighters used a ladder to bring him down, LFR spokeswoman MJ Lierman said.
A dog died in the fire, she said.
One apartment on the third floor is probably unsalvageable, LFR said. Other units sustained minor damage.
Several people took themselves to hospitals for smoke inhalation, Lierman said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
