Lied Center plans to pack seats, boost Lincoln’s economy with ‘Hamilton’

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The widely popular play “Hamilton” could spark an economic boost when it comes to Lincoln’s Lied Center in August.

Bill Stephan, the Lied’s executive director, thinks the show will break the venue’s attendance records.

Jason Ball, president of the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, said the popular show is a win for Lincoln businesses.

“It just demonstrates there’s a business case for these arts and entertainment projects that come to Lincoln,” he said.

The show will not only bring in Lincolnites but also crowds from surrounding areas.

“It’s going to support a huge swath of the economy and really create a big part of this summer’s economic impact,” Ball said.

He said the show is a great opportunity for people to support the Lied and Lincoln’s economy.

“Come out, be part of this,” Ball said.  “It matters so much to the economic future of our community.”
