LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — At Pioneers Park, thousands can watch American Ballet Theatre dancers for free, this Thursday.

All this happening as the Lied Center announces its next season of various shows.

“The intermission is over and the lead centers fully back,” said Bill Stephan, executive director for the Lied Center for Performing Arts.

Stephan says the Lied Center is excited to relaunch their season after the pandemic stopped many shows.

“It’s so wonderful that everyone will be able to gather together in full capacity,” said Stephan. “This fall and spring, the artists that have been waiting to come to Lincoln, do many of these programs. We have this upcoming season, we’re from our 30th anniversary, so in many ways, we’re still celebrating 30 anniversary, with programs like Boston Pops and the Carol King musical Beautiful.”

Also on the list are performances like the Righteous Brothers, Mannheim Steamroller, and more.

Thursday many are gearing up for the 20 American Ballet Theatre dancers that will come from new york, kicking off their tour in the capital city.

What’s unique about it? Thousands will be able to enjoy the show in Pioneers Park.

“And they’ll be doing everything from classical ballet with tutus, contemporary dance, and jazz,” said Stephan. “It’s perfect for someone who loves dance but also is if you’ve never been to a dance program. This is a perfect way to experience dance for the very first time, created just for you.”

Tickets for the American Ballet Theatre show are free and season tickets can be bought at the Leid Center or on their website.
