Lightning hits Waverly home as storm smashes parts of Nebraska with hail

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — As Nebraska was being pounded by hail and rain Thursday morning, emergency responders raced to a Waverly home that got hit by lightning.

This happened on Lucia Court near Northloch Street around 6 a.m.

No fire was found, but there was a noticeable haze in the area.

One of the people living there told Channel 8 that some video game systems were fried by the strike.

They also shared photos that show minor exterior damage.  There are no reports of injuries.

Other parts of Nebraska were pummeled by hail throughout the morning, including Furnas and Jefferson Counties.

One home’s windows were shattered as it was coming down.
