Lightning strike fire causes $100k in damages to Lincoln home

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A lightning strike hit the roof of a north Lincoln home on Saturday, starting a fire.

Battalion Chief Jeff Topil said Lincoln Fire and Rescue was called to the area near W Huntington Avenue and NW 41st Street around 1 p.m.

Topil said arriving firefighters saw flames coming from the attic, and they were able to quickly put it out.

He estimates the damage to be around $100,000.

There were no injuries.
