LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln Airport is adding American Airlines flights to three new locales next year.

The airport announced Thursday that the new nonstop service will connect Lincoln with Dallas/Fort Worth and Chicago O’Hare in June 2026.

A seasonal winter service to Phoenix will be added in Winter 2026.

Husker football head coach Matt Rhule, Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen and Lincoln Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird attended the unveiling at the airport.

The announcement comes after the airport conducted a business travel survey, which received responses from nearly 350 local businesses, officials said.

“This is a pivotal moment for Lincoln Airport and for our community,” said Chris Hove, chair of the Lincoln Airport Authority Board. “American Airlines’ decision to serve Lincoln brings competition, affordability, and global connectivity back to our market.”

By July 4, 2026, the Lincoln Airport is projecting to offer 14 daily departures to five destinations on three airlines.

Additional details on flight schedules and fares will be announced by American Airlines, the airport said.
