Lincoln Airport launches plan to help travelers with hidden disabilities
The Sunflower Program is a discreet way to signal you may need extra support

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln Airport is joining other airports across the world in adopting the Sunflower Program.
It’s a discreet way to identify individuals with a hidden disability. Wearing the sunflower indicates to people around the wearer that they may need additional support.
Hidden disabilities are disabilities that are not immediately apparent, such as Asperger syndrome, dementia or diabetes. They can be physical, mental or neurological.
Around the world, one in seven people live with a disability. About 80% of those disabilities are hidden, which means 1 billion people are living with a non-visible disability.
Sunflower wearables are available in the Lincoln Airport near the United Airlines ticketing counter and at the customer service desk.
