Lincoln Airport seeing rise in amount of flyers

Take note, Delta Airlines returns to the Lincoln Airport Wednesday.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – With more vaccines and summer right around the corner, the Lincoln Airport is seeing an uptick in travelers.

“Our numbers have grown substantially compared to last year at this time,” Rachel Barth, the Director of Communications for the airport said. “Our load factor is closer to 73%, which compared to last year at this time, was like eight percent.”

The most passengers our local airport has seen since the pandemic started.

And they don’t believe it will be slowing down anytime soon with the return of Delta Airlines on Wednesday.

“We anticipate those numbers to keep climbing,” Barth said.

The Lincoln Airport wants to remind flyers to check their flights ahead of time, arrive early to make sure you beat the crowd and don’t forget your mask, vaccinated or not, masks are required in the airport and on any plane.
