Lincoln Airport’s second annual Santa Bash attracts over 900 people

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln Airport hosted its second annual Santa Bash on Friday.

The holiday event offered a variety of family events, from local entertainment to a hot chocolate bar.

And, of course, pictures with Santa.

“This makes you feel festive, it gets you ready for Christmas and people are just excited,” said Rachel Barth, the airport’s director of communications. “And it’s fun to kind of come to a hangar see an airplane and get to see kind of the inner workings of a maintenance space which not a lot of people get to see in the public.”

At least 900 people showed up during the three-hour event.  Officials said last year’s event was so successful that they extended the hours.

The event was free, but people could give donations to the Capital Humane Society and the Cornhusker Chapter of Women in Aviation, an organization created to help get women into the field.
