Lincoln auto store employee found burglar sitting at her desk, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was caught red-handed Monday during a burglary attempt at a Lincoln auto parts store, police say.

Around 6:50 a.m., an employee arrived for work at O’Reilly Auto Parts near 10th and Arapahoe streets.

As the employee approached her office, she heard a voice, police said.

She then saw Lane Duncan, 25, sitting at her desk with money, according to police.  A hammer was also lying on the desk.

Officers arrived and arrested Duncan on suspicion of burglary and possessing burglar’s tools.

The store’s glass door and cash register were damaged, police said.
