Lincoln casino is flush with fans hoping to cash in on March Madness

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – For the first time ever, Nebraskans can legally bet on March Madness games.

WarHorse Casino in southwest Lincoln was packed Thursday with eager betting enthusiasts gearing up for a day of basketball chaos.

Sportsbook manager Jason Johnston said that with the Nebraska men and women’s basketball teams making the NCAA Tournament, the sportsbook is seeing numbers it hasn’t seen since football season.

“Football Saturdays and football Sundays are pretty tough to compete against,” Johnston said. “But I expect tomorrow, with Nebraska playing Texas A&M, I would say that will be one of the busiest times we’ve had here at the Sportsbook.”

Bets are only being accepted in person, as Nebraska law does not allow bets to be placed online.
