Lincoln Children’s Museum offering daycare during Husker games

Nebraska football season is fast approaching. The Lincoln Children’s Museum is proud to be a part of the downtown game day tradition.
For the first time ever, parents can drop off their kids on the way to the tailgate, and then pick them up after the game is over.
"It’s fun for everybody, kids get to go and we get to go," said Melanie Pflanz.
Being located downtown, it’s a convenient option. The care will be for children ages 3 through 12. During that time, they will receive a snack as well as participate in special game day activities.
"We really believe in the power of play and our mission here at the Lincoln Children’s Museum is to promote that and to enrich kids lives and they learn so much during that time and so they get to interact with other kids, play with other kids in the museum, they’ll be learning that whole time," said the museum’s director of community and learning, Lindsay Bartlett.
We talked to a parent who has been a member at the museum for 4 years. She said it’s hard to find babysitters when everyone wants to be at the game.
"The museum offers all sorts of activities all the time and this is just one more added benefit for having a great facility in town, being able to have babysitting on game day," said Pflanz.
Members will pay $35 per child and non-members $45. You can drop them off an hour and a half before a game. They have to be picked up by an hour after the game.
At this time, care is offered during the Troy, Colorado and Purdue games. More games will be available once kick-off times are confirmed.
The museum is near 50 percent sold out. If you are interested in signing up, we have the link below.
