Lincoln Children’s Zoo closed due to storm damage

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln Children’s Zoo is closed Thursday after a storm caused damage to part of the facility.

Officials said in a Facebook post that the historic side of the zoo “sustained quite a bit of damage” in Wednesday evening’s storm.

No people or animals were injured in the storm.

But crews are spending the day assessing damage, taking care of maintenance needs and cleaning up.

The zoo did not say whether it would open back up on Friday.
