Lincoln Christian uses run game to defeat rival Lincoln Lutheran

The Crusaders reclaim the Spirit Sword, defeating Lincoln Lutheran 28-14

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Cross-town rivals Lincoln Lutheran and Lincoln Christian clashed in the battle of the Spirit Sword on Friday in Channel 8’s Game of the Week at Aldrich Field.

The Crusaders won 28-14.

The Warriors capitalized early off a Crusader turnover in the first quarter with a touchdown pass to sophomore Kruz Fiddler.

Lincoln Christian made a statement with its run game in this one; senior running back Asa Wegrzyn burst a run up the middle for an 85-yard touchdown.

He finished with over 100 yards rushing and two TDs.

The Crusaders would add more to the damage, returning a blocked field goal for a touchdown.

Lincoln Christian held the Warriors scoreless in the second half.
