Lincoln City Council to discuss hot button issue Monday

Monday, the Lincoln City Council is expected to address some big and hot-button issues.

On the agenda, are a gun ordinance that would require gun owners to safely secure their weapons in their cars, in a specified case with a lock.

Safety advocates say it would prevent children and thieves from getting their hands on these firearms, while some gun owners say it’s the requirement is too burdensome.

Another item listed on the agenda is a project on UNL’s Innovation Campus.
