Lincoln community lends helping hand to family in need

A GoFundMe page has been set up to raise money for the Kozak family.

On Saturday night, a medical helicopter was needed at Eagle Raceway for a male race track worker who was hit by a race car.

A witness said a male race track official, later identified as Tim Kozak, was realigning cars after a wreck on the track when another race car clipped him.

Kozak was thrown from the impact, and a helicopter had to life flight him to Bryan Medical Center’s West Campus.

He suffered fractured vertebrae in his neck and back.

A day later, Kozak remains in critical condition.

Eagle Raceway is a one third mile track two miles east of Eagle, Nebraska.

Kozak is the main provider for his wife and three children.

Eagle Raceway officials say Tim has been a huge part of the racing community for many years.

They have set up a GoFundMe to raise money to help lighten the families load during his recovery.

The GoFundMe page has already been shared more than 500 times and raised over a thousand dollars!
