Lincoln crews patrolling snow and ice covered streets

Lincoln city officials say 20 crews have begun plowing operations this Thursday morning around midnight.
They’ll be going around arterial streets, school and bus routes, applying de-icing brine and granular salt, pre-wet with brine as needed.
Additional plows are standby if conditions worsen.
The Channel 8 Eyewitness News Weather Team forecast sleet changing to snow overnight, with light icing and up to three inches of snow possible.
Drivers should be alert for slick spots and black ice during their morning commute.
