Lincoln Crime Stoppers: Purse snatched successfully, but would-be golf club thief gives up
This week we look at two cases of theft, although one attempt was unsuccessful.
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln Police Department is looking for information in a pair of cases from recent weeks. Both involve something being stolen, but only one case was a successful theft.
Beginning on February 4, an employee at Noel’s Liquor Store near 48th and Vine Streets was getting ready to close for the night and placed her purse on a chair as she helped the last customers. Unfortunately, as video evidence shows, the purse went home with someone else. A woman in a white jacket hovers a little too close to the purse, for a little too long, before leaving the store with the goods. She was with a man, who is not being charged with anything, but his photo is being released to help with identification.
Jumping ahead a few days to the 7th of February, we come to our unsuccessful theft. A man was sitting in his garage near South 27th and Van Dorn just after getting home from work. When he saw somebody in his rearview mirror, he hopped out to see what they wanted. Apparently, the intruder wanted golf clubs, as they started off with the homeowner’s set. Luckily they let go of the clubs during their escape in a very distinctive car: a late 80s to early 90s Dodge or Chrysler minivan. The yellow van with wood paneling isn’t exactly a common sight, and police are looking for more information.
