Lincoln drug dealer gets 15 years in prison for selling meth

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lincoln man will spend 15 years in federal prison after getting caught with meth multiple times, the U.S. Attorney’s Office says.
Andrew Gilkerson, 33, was sentenced Thursday for conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of actual methamphetamine.
U.S. District Judge John M. Gerrard also sentenced him to 10 years of post-prison supervised release.
On Aug. 19, 2021, the Lincoln/Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force was getting ready to serve a search warrant at Gilkerson’s home.
Officers saw him drive away before the search, so they pulled him over and searched the vehicle.
Inside, they found 34 oxycodone pills that tested positive for fentanyl. Gilkerson was also carrying 10.7 grams of meth and more than $2,000 in cash, authorities said.
And that was just the beginning.
When they searched the house, officers uncovered a large stash of drugs and paraphernalia: 15.8 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 7.1 grams of meth, 5.2 grams of marijuana, a scale, spoons, bongs and pipes.
Two months later, a Lincoln Police officer followed Gilkerson, who accelerated to more than 60 mph in a residential area to get away, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
When officers eventually found the vehicle, there was a half-gram of meth by it, authorities said.
Gilkerson was hiding nearby, with more than $5,000 in his pocket.
On Jan. 27, 2022, he sold a confidential informant 100 grams of pure meth for $1,100, the U.S Attorney’s Office said.
Later that day, officers pulled him over for driving with fictitious plates. His license had also been revoked.
They saw a bag with 8.1 grams of meth in the cup holder. He also had more than $8,000 on him and in his lunch box.
Of the money seized during the investigation, $8,000 was returned to Gilkerson because it was inheritance money.
But he forfeited $6,548 in drug trafficking income, according to authorities.
