Lincoln East baseball wins Class A state championship

OMAHA, Neb. (KLKN) — Lincoln East baseball took down Millard North 5-4 on Friday night in a championship game that won’t soon be forgotten.

The Spartans’ offense got up in a hurry, taking a 3-0 lead after two innings.
Millard North bounced back, scoring a run in the third.
Going into the sixth inning, it was still 3-1, but the Mustangs found their groove, scoring two and tying the game.
Millard North hit a solo home run to take a 4-3 lead in the top of the seventh, putting the Spartans’ championship hopes in jeopardy.
But Lincoln East rallied, to the tune of two runs in the bottom of the seventh to secure the win.
