Lincoln East team advances to American Legion World Series championship

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Carpet Land, Lincoln East’s American Legion baseball team, defeated Post 6 out of Cheyenne, Wyoming, 2-1 on Monday.

The Spartans are now headed to the American Legion World Series championship game.

Garrett Springer had the only hit of the game for the Rugs, a two-RBI single, to give Carpet Land the lead and ultimately the game.

Carpet Land also saw an impressive day on the mound, thanks to Ryan Clementi and Connor Johnson.

The two combined for nine strikeouts and 0 earned runs.

Carpet Land plays Tuesday in the championship game as they look to bring the ALWS title to Nebraska for the first time since 1939.
